I hope you remember our green monster, not hulk, Frankenstein. The author of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley sensed that electricity can do some real stuff. So in the novel she decided to pump the life in lifeless creature with the help of electricity. The novel was science fiction but we know that electricity is one hell of a thing.
Electricity is the most versatile energy source on the planet, but we’re only dependent on it for about 100 years. We use electricity to do our routine work like switching on fan, tube light, laptop, mobile etc.
As a normal human we restrict the use of electricity to this. But people like Mary Shelley and Dr Jose Delgado saw electricity in different way.
Who was Dr. Jose Delgado?
Dr. Jose Delgado, a neurophysiology at Yale University School, was especially interested in Electronic Stimulation of the Brain. By implanting a small probe into the brain, Delgado discovered that he could wield enormous power over his subject. Using a device, he called the stimoceiver which is operated in FM radio waves, he was able to electrically control the emotional state of human being. During 1966, Delgado announced that his findings supported the distasteful conclusion that motion, emotion and behavior can be directed by electrical forces. According to him humans can be controlled like robots by push buttons.
What technique he was using?
He used the electromagnetic waves to control the mind. Jose believe that his stimoceiver can also erase the memory of a person. Rodríguez Delgado’s research interests centered on the use of electrical signals to evoke responses in the brain. His earliest work was with cats, but he later did experiments with monkeys and humans, including psychiatric patients.
Can radio waves interfere brain waves?
Not likely. Brain waves are too slow, and so weak that they’re extremely hard to measure…
Radio waves and brain waves are both forms of electromagnetic radiation—waves of energy that travel at the speed of light. The difference between brain waves, radio waves, and other electromagnetic waves (such as visible light, X-rays and Gamma rays) lies in their frequency. The difference of frequency should be very less to superimpose the waves on each other.
The human brain also emits waves, like when a person focuses his attention or remembers something. Dr. Jose used the same brain waves to manipulate the brain waves by electromagnetic waves. Although there is no real evidence about his experiment on humans but there was an experiment performed on bull. With a single button Jose was controlling the bull.
