Paramilitary forces are generally referred to as an additional army . These forces are not exactly similar to their counterparts in the national army. However their organisational structure is very much the same as the national armed forces. Most of the paramilitary forces have to report to the authorities other than the head of the state usually the president of the nation but to other heads such as the home ministry, intelligence agencies and other union ministries.

Paramilitaries are crucial in situations where there are highly critical and sensitive situations. Like an area of border, a war hit location or in situations of terror attacks. Seeing this it is obvious that the training these forces get is high in intensity. It does require a lot of rigour and dedication to be a part of such forces.
